I spend a lot of time talking to the "greenies" of Seattle and let me tell you, I am a might bit sick of them treating McGinn's campaign like it is the second coming. (God I sound like McCain supporters during last year's pres. campaign, don't I?) So it's really nice to read:

The McGinn campaign consistently struggles with framing its message at these public events. At campaign launch, McGinn's talk was about schools, broadband, and buses . Only later did he decide to make a central issue of opposing "Greg Nickels'" deep-bore tunnel, and begin to gain in the polls.

and

And while the new website is fun, it's not addressing McGinn's primary handicap at all--that he has little governmental leadership experience.

The man's got a few good ideas and I really WANT to support him, but... I dunno, he just leaves me flat because I don't think he has what it takes to get from promises to reality. Of course, he did defeat that roads and transit measure so maybe he's got enough tricks up his sleeve, eh?
