The Lake Union Streetcar is an astounding flop compared to Portland and Tacoma. Dismal patronage could be improved, but a simple extension to Pike Place Market is haughtily dismissed unless it extends further to Old Town along severely problematic 1st Ave. The 4th & 5th Ave couplet idea is similarly problematic. Ultra-expensive extensions to U-DuhB and Fremont/Ballard serve exclusive or limited markets.

The Waterfront Streetcar could be reinstalled but the current design for Alaskan Way does not provide enough space even as it fails to manage car/truck traffic. Absurdly artsy-fartsy and mostly barren plaza space takes precident once again over actual transportation planning in Seattle, as if chaotic traffic is the intent. Why else would Sculpture Park display giant orange traffic cones if not to flaunt the nightmare of traffic?
