The hidden costs also include “add-ons” to wholesale prices such as broken case charges that both SWS and Youngs’ charge that subsidize their cost for bottle picks. The “charges” add on another $1 per bottle as well.

Your article completely fails to address the underlying reason for the masssive price increases and pricing disparities, namely the predatory and discriminatory pricing of the dualopoly of Southern Spirits and Young’s Market (liquor distributors).

Yes, we do want to work them in. They’re a bit apples-and-oranges in this list, since they’re a membership organization, but I think it’d be useful to see if there’s that much of a difference.

Would have been useful to compare Costco, given that it bankrolled the intiative. Not as much selection, but they have all the big-name brands.
