Pearl Jam Doesn’t Really Want You to “Mind Your Manners” (Video)
“So let’s try counting the number of obvious blunders,” an announcer intones at the end of Pearl Jam‘s video for “Mind Your Manners,” off their latest album Lightning Bolt. Behind the band plays clips of bombs exploding, oil wells on fire; you see the Twin Towers, an American flag flies behind a camp’s barbed wire. (Even the Space Needle gets a lightning strike.) It’s not exactly a nuanced take, but it’s hammered with old-school punk-rock verve. It’s past time to be polite about it.
