As the last weekend of August rolls around, the long list of summer celebrations is nearing the end. One of the events most likely to cause some traffic congestion is the closure Sunday morning of Alki Avenue SW along Alki Beach Park for the Alki Beach 5K Run.
The Seattle Department of Transportation encourages motorists heading to weekend activities to consider taking alternate modes of transportation to coming weekend’s events – Metro Transit, the Sounder commuter train, Link light rail, car pool, bicycle or walk, if feasible.
