Since I especially love Asian food, I’m selecting some of my favorite noodles, sushi joints, and restaurants for particular Asian cuisines. For kicks, I’m also including my favorite sandwiches and burger in Seattle. More generally, check out my choices for favorite new restaurants—and a few favorite overall restaurants as well. Based on a number of “Passport to Pleasure” articles this year, I’ve got a couple of favorite eateries to try when you want to escape from Seattle.

You are reading an excerpt from 2012 in Food: No Top Chef, But 26 Favorites for the Seattle Area.

The SunBreak supports RSS for you diehard RSS readers out there.

Last year, Andrew Zimmern came to Seattle to shoot an episode for his new Bizarre Foods America series. After much anticipation, that episode will air tonight on the Travel Channel. While we eagerly await the show to see what's including, you can count on five highlights to be included.

You are reading an excerpt from Andrew Zimmern’s Take on Bizarre Foods in Seattle.

The SunBreak supports RSS for you diehard RSS readers out there.

So just where will Zimmern find freaky food in Seattle? Early word is that he’ll be hitting eateries old and new. Food trucks and International District locations are likely to be in play. Natto (spiderweb-like fermented soybeans), stinky tofu, balut (fertilized duck embryo), and shirako (cod sperm) were among my recommendations for Zimmern to try; come to think of it, that sounds like a dream meal for me, and far from bizarre.

You are reading an excerpt from Andrew Zimmern Bringing His Bizarre Food Beat to Seattle.

The SunBreak supports RSS for you diehard RSS readers out there.
