One interesting (and unpredictable) sidebar thrown into the mix is the extensive work that’s been done on Mercer Street. I’m curious as to what kind of impact all of the re-routing will have on Bumber-traffic in general, and Bumbershoot attendance in particular. Despite the awesomeness of Bumbershoot’s overall art and performance schedule, it’s the music lineup that’s got me most stoked. True dyed-in-the-wool showbiz legends are a dying breed, so the fact that world-class crooner icon Tony Bennett and rockabilly pioneer Wanda Jackson both grace Bumbershoot this year should be cause for celebration.
