TGIF! Weekend Traffic Predicted to be “Particularly Ugly” Saturday

If you can avoid the SoDo area on Saturday, the Department of Transportation advises you to do so. The University of Washington’s graduation ceremonies start at noon at Century Link Field, and are set to wrap up just about the time the Mariners take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at SAFECO Field. Traffic was going to be a little hinky at times anyway this weekend, thanks to Saturday Huskies (12:30 p.m.) and Sounders (7:30 p.m.) games, but WSDOT is also going to be working on the 520 bridge, which is slightly less old than its namesake, Albert Rosellini, who died this week at 101.

As Seattle Times op-ed journalist Joni Balter also appears on KUOW, Mass challenged her on her op-ed (“A slow burn for worthy state students snubbed by the University of Washington”), arguing that from his personal knowledge and from speaking with the Dean of Admissions, the UW “does not reject strong straight A students–if someone with an A average gets rejected it is because there was an issue–easy classes, poor SATs scores, or the like.”
