While we have been known to frighten or startle in disgust at these urban flocks, something about soap.n's capture of their feeding time at Westlake brings a bit of perspective to their situation. The birds are hungry, and the lady in the red hat wants to feed them. Let's live and let live.

Postcard from Portland: West Elm and Seattle

After further inquiry, I learned that West Elm will be on Westlake (across from Whole Foods Market), with a targeted opening of October. Now it will be easier to buy those napkin rings and nightstands, though the allure of travel to Portland remains with the absence of sales tax and the promise of good eats like I just enjoyed at Le Pigeon, Lardo, and the like.
