Jim Gaffigan Serves Up Delicious Comedy Bacon at the Paramount

Last night, Jim Gaffigan put on a brutal comedy show at the Paramount.  Brutal in that my friend described the pasty comic's hour-long set, about half of which was new material, as "punitively funny," since after the show we both ached from laughing so hard.  Gaffigan cracked wise on such topics as working out (or not working out), McDonald's, staying at hotels, herbal supplement/scam penis pill Extenze, the low self-esteem of whales, and Domino's pasta bread bowls.  He saved his Hot Pockets riff for the encore, even though there were a few yelled requests for that bit from the crowd during the set.

Jim Gaffigan has another two shows at the Paramount tonight (7 p.m. is sold out, but some tickets are still available for 9:30 p.m.), so if you missed it yesterday, tonight's your last chance to see the man heckle himself in a high-pitched voice.
