Marination Mobile Picked a Peck of Pickled Peppers
It doesn’t make for as tricky of a tongue twister, but MM’s pickled jalapenos have got to be better than whatever Peter Piper is hawking. And now they’re sharing with the masses: Starting late last month, Kamala Saxton and Roz Edison are selling jars of their Peppers in a Pickle, along with their Nunya Sauce, at both the Korean-Hawaiian mobile food cart and inside Marination Station.
The peppers are simple and tangy, with just vinegar, cane sugar, garlic, ginger, and other spices. I’ve tried them on sandwiches and with eggs, and the Marination folks offer up chili, relish, and salad as other pairing options. Meanwhile, the Nunya Sauce contains mayo, kochujang, garlic, and green onions–and the rest ain’t nunya business. (I taste a little bit of sesame.) Marination Mobile serves the condiment on its sliders and its tacos, but it’s so good you should feel free to put it on anything and everything! Try it with eggs, grilled cheese, or as a dip.
Nunya Sauce and Peppers in a Pickle are for sale on the truck and in the storefront for $8 per ten-ounce jar. Each jar comes with a free taco or slider to get your aloha going.
