Having a friend who’s considered herself a “Titaniac” since elementary school means that when the ship-sinking centennial rolls around, there’s sure to be a once-in-a-lifetime fête commemorating the occasion. So it was last Saturday night, with an authentic nine-course Titanic meal (complete with wine pairings, natch) at the Alki Bathhouse. Even the invitations indicated that it would be a night to remember.

Anchors aweigh! Every invitee was given a real passenger's dossier to serve as inspiration. I was a Parisian model who went down with the ship. Spoiler alert!

Meanwhile, my roommate was a New York actress who made it out on the first lifeboat.

I immediately put myself in charge of all the wines, as is my wont.

As you might recall, Saturday night was beautiful. Here's the view from Alki.

The view inside wasn't so bad neither.

All dolled up.

The table settings were ornate. Remember: when it comes to utensils, work from the outside in.

"Potage Saint-Germain" is just a fancy way to say "pea soup."

Every meal should include a punch course. It's basically an adult slushie.
