Denying the Space Between Us

| What: | Dancer/choreographer Mônica Mata Gilliam (LAUNCH Dance) presents a performance capping a year-long project called You're Right Here. An exploration of friendship and connectedness in the digital era, Gilliam and other dancers and choreographers produced a series of videos responding to one another, which Gilliam--along with Alice Gosti and Paige Barnes--is re-interpreting live in Denying the Space Between Us. The performances occur in a Studio D at 1417 10th Ave. (next door to Sweatbox Yoga). The audience space is small, and interested parties are requested to reserve a spot for one of the three shows each night (7, 8:15, and 9:30) on Sat., Dec. 19 and Sun., Dec. 20, by emailing movementdamata@gmail.com. Tickets are $12 ($8 artists). |
