Richard Dawkins was just in Seattle this week, at the University of Washington for a book reading and Q&A. His latest book is The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution, in which he tones down his atheism, but calls the evidence for evolution "irrefutable." There's a slightly fan-centric intro to the video--skip to the 5-minute mark to get straight to Dawkins.

As a side note, one of the book's dedicatees is Seattle's Charles Simonyi, our space-going Hungarian. In 1995, Simonyi "established an endowed chair, the Simonyi Professorship of the Public Understanding of Science at Oxford University," notes Wikipedia, which Dawkins was the first to sit in. (Joke! Not that kind of chair.) Here in Seattle, we have the Charles Simonyi Fund for Arts and Sciences, lately led by King County Executive candidate Susan Hutchison, who despite sitting on the board of the Discovery "Why Darwinism Is False" Institute, says she's a friend of Dawkins'.
