The baby wallaroo's tail is the only thing visible in this picture from the Woodland Park Zoo--he's safely immersed in mom Fergie's pouch.

Still, the zoo says you can get a glimpse of him when Fergie is cleaning her pouch. Born in September, the young'un has a few more months to go before he hits the bricks for the first time.

For now, a tail, and maybe an arm or leg are what you're most likely to see: "Fergie generally spends her time in the indoor portion of the exhibit except on sunny days when she ventures into the outdoor portion," says the zoo, noting that, "in addition to the new wallaroo family are three adult female wallaroos."

While you're there, they suggest you pop into Willawong Station, the walk-through bird feeding experience.  You'll see some 150 free-flying birds, including an Australian parrot.

Woodland Park Zoo is open 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily through April 30. Admission for an Adult (13-64) is $11.50; Child (3-12) $8.50. Zoo members receive free zoo admission year round. Parking is $5.25.
