40 Miles of I-90 Closed During Sunday Dust Storm

The Tri-City Herald reports that at least 11 people have been hospitalized following collisions in a major dust storm that blanketed I-90 north of Moses Lake today. KOMO says the closure of I-90  between Moses Lake and Ritzville was not due to lift until at least 7 p.m. on Sunday. A state trooper said that visibility at the worst was just five feet, and in fact during the day the storm prevented emergency vehicles from entering. Besides the dust, winds were reaching 40 mph, making driving even more dangerous.
