Hopefully, on this Veteran’s Day, you work for a company that loves our country and has given you the day off to honor those who have served, as well as to sleep in. Regardless, we’re all looking forward to a drink tonight, no? God bless America.
And it’s on this fortuitous occasion that Olive Way bar Tommy Gun hosts guests bartender David Nelson tonight from 5 to 9 p.m. Nelson has vast experience behind the bar. Just look at the number he’s tended that are no more: Union, Campagne, the original Marjorie. You might also know David from various establishments about town that currently exist, including Tavern Law, Still (but briefly), and now Il Bistro, as the bar manager.
Of course, he’s no mere bartender, but not a mixologist neither–he’s more in the Murray Stenson school of tending, where he endeavors to expand your own knowledge and experience with liquor, while also effortlessly creating a delicious something out of seemingly nothing.
Added bonus: Get David Nelson’s liquor expertise on the cheap, as he’ll be working Tommy Gun’s daily happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. Barkeep, make me something fancy!
