Satellites being as high-tech as they are, it's not all that amazing that Sunday's dust storm in eastern Washington was visible from space. But it's still amazing to see. "These fields are likely either fallow or newly planted, probably with winter wheat, a common dryland crop in eastern Washington." I-90 reopened overnight.

KOMO says the closure of I-90  between Moses Lake and Ritzville was not due to lift until at least 7 p.m. on Sunday. A state trooper said that visibility at the worst was just five feet, and in fact during the day the storm prevented emergency vehicles from entering. Besides the dust, winds were reaching 40 mph, making driving even more dangerous.
